Third-Party Administrators (TPAs)
Testology, Inc., is now a TPA, and as a TPA we now can play a crucial role in managing workplace drug and alcohol testing programs for employers. We can serve as intermediaries between employers and service providers, ensuring that testing programs are effectively implemented and compliant with relevant regulations.
Common services offered by TPAs include:
-
Program Management and Policy Development: TPAs assist employers in creating and maintaining drug and alcohol testing policies that comply with federal and state regulations. This includes developing comprehensive testing programs tailored to the specific needs of the organization.
-
Random Testing and Consortium Services: For employers, especially those regulated by the Department of Transportation (DOT), TPAs manage random drug and alcohol testing programs. They may also offer consortium services, grouping multiple employers to collectively meet random testing requirements.
-
Coordination of Testing Services: TPAs handle the logistics of the testing process, coordinating between collection sites, laboratories, and Medical Review Officers (MROs) to ensure timely and accurate processing of test specimens.
-
Regulatory Compliance and Record Keeping: Ensuring adherence to federal and state regulations is a key function of TPAs. They maintain required testing records and assist employers in staying compliant with agencies such as the DOT.
-
Training and Education: Many TPAs provide training programs for supervisors and employees on topics like substance abuse awareness and reasonable suspicion testing, promoting a safer and more informed workplace.
